About us

Linlithgow Athletic Club is a volunteer-led, community-focused athletics club based in the heart of Linlithgow. Our mission is simple: Wellbeing through athletics for everyone. We are proud of our welcoming culture, dedicated coaches and strong community links. From our youngest members taking their first strides to adults achieving personal goals they once thought impossible, LAC is about supporting each other to be active, healthy and connected. We are more than an athletics club — we are a community.

Linlithgow Athletic Club and Let's Go Linlithgow

Linlithgow Athletic Club

Linlithgow Athletic Club has been at the heart of the local community since it was established in 1979. What began as a small group of enthusiastic runners has grown into a thriving, inclusive athletics club supporting people of all ages and abilities to enjoy being active.

Today, the club is led by a dedicated volunteer board of trustees who provide oversight and governance to ensure the club is run safely, sustainably and in line with our values. The board includes — but is not limited to — the Chair, Secretary, Treasurer(s), Safeguarding Officer and Communications Officer, and meets at least quarterly to support the effective running and continued development of the club.

We are also proud to have a team of qualified Scottish Athletics Level 1 and Level 2 coaches who deliver structured training across all membership groups. Their commitment ensures that every member — from juniors taking their first steps in sport to adults pursuing personal goals — receives support, encouragement and high-quality coaching in a welcoming environment.

As a volunteer-led club, community is at the centre of everything we do. Our ethos of wellbeing through athletics for everyone underpins our training, events and the supportive culture that makes Linlithgow Athletic Club more than just a running club — it’s a place where people belong.

Let's Go Linlithgow

Let’s Go Linlithgow is Linlithgow’s own JogScotland group, supported by Linlithgow Athletic Club. The group offers a regular Couch-to-5K programmes and follow-on running groups.

We gradually build your confidence, building from walk/jog to continuous jogging.  We are a fun, friendly jogging group, perfect for people who want to get active for the first time, or for those who want to get back to jogging in a sociable, supportive environment.  Nobody is “too slow” to join JogScotland, and nobody gets left behind.

Community

Linlithgow Athletic Club is deeply rooted in the local community and is proud to give back to the town and people who support us. Our flagship Linlithgow 10K is not only a highlight of the local sporting calendar but also a vehicle for positive community impact. Each year the event contributes to local charities and seeks to showcase and support local talent and businesses, working with sponsors, suppliers and community partners to ensure the race benefits Linlithgow as a whole. Alongside the 10K, our much-loved annual Santa Dash brings festive fun to the town while raising funds for a range of charitable causes.

Beyond our events, LAC members regularly volunteer across the local area, supporting parkruns at Linlithgow, Beecraigs Country Park, Bo’ness Foreshore and Auldcathie, helping ensure these free community events continue to thrive. The club also comes together to support members and families in times of need, most notably through fundraising efforts to help a club member and his daughter living with a complex neurological condition, contributing towards specialist equipment to enhance their quality of life. This spirit of generosity, inclusion and community service sits at the heart of Linlithgow Athletic Club and reflects our enduring commitment to wellbeing through athletics for everyone.
